Kiwi offers a variety of activities, giving campers the ability to make each day unique. Some of our campers favorites are:

Arts, Crafts & Music

The Arts & Crafts and Music programs at Kiwi bring to each camper the joy of creativity and developing one's talents. The program is housed in two large buildings under the supervision of Art and Crafts Teachers, and Musicians. It is Kiwi's goal to unlock the imagination and talents inherent in all of us and in doing so to learn the value of creative playtime.

The program is also involved with many other activities in the camp such as the Theme Days, Carnival Week and the Summer Theater. Kiwi Artists create such things as banners, theatrical backdrops, and costumes.

Kiwi has a music building with a wrap-around deck. There is a wide range of musical instruments for the campers to enjoy. In addition, we enjoy singing many folk songs to get us into the Kiwi music spirit. Campers at music prepare for the ever popular variety show, sing-a-long and musical production.

Summer Theater

Welcome to Kiwi's summer theater, one of the premiere programs which brings out the talent and creativity in your children. Under the direction of a Theater Director, the campers produce the entire play from costuming, props, acting, singing and dancing. The tryouts and production including everything from stage hands to lead roles are open to campers ages 8-15.

The rehearsal, tryouts and production last for most of the summer. There are two shows at the end of the summer, one during camp hours for the entire camp and the other an evening performance for the campers and their parents. The evening performance is especially exciting as a professional theatrical lighting and sound company is hired giving the performance a professional feel.

Aquatics

The Kiwi Swimming Program is the centerpiece of the camp's aquatic program. In addition to the lake activities which feature a long sandy white beach and a large waterside deck with slides, we have four heated pools each designed and staffed to accommodate all levels of swimmers. We offer a beginner pool: 1-3' deep and three intermediate pools: 3-8' deep. The largest pool is for more advanced swimmers. Swimmers are swim tested and placed according to ability, and strive to get advanced into the next pool.

Under the direction of our Aquatics Directors, the program provides both instruction and recreation for every camper. Every camper swims two times a day for 40 minutes each swim. It is our goal to provide your child with all the fun of the pool and also with the individual and group instruction that will make your child a better and more confident swimmer. We employ American Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructors and Lifeguards at all our pool locations.

Wilderness Adventure

Set in a wooded area of the camp, the wilderness adventure program features a 25' rock climbing wall and various other low ropes, zip lines, swinging and climbing apparatus. Designed to challenge and thrill the adventurous camper, it has a full time staff of trained activity specialists. The staff not only teaches proper and safe technique but also monitors each station. Safety is also of prime importance and all the equipment is kept in top working order. Safety equipment is worn by all the campers such as helmets safety lines and harnesses. These adventurous activities are designed to promote both group cooperation and trust among campers.

Sports

Camp Kiwi has an extensive sports program designed to teach both skills and athletic ability for campers of all ages. Kiwi also wants all campers to learn important values such as friendly competition and fair play. The program has all the major traditional sports like Tennis, Baseball, Basketball, Lacrosse, Volleyball, Floor Hockey and Soccer. Please view our sports page for more details.
