The Kiwi Theater program is a very popular program at Kiwi. Drama is one of Kiwi’s cultural activities. Ages 3-15 are scheduled regularly for this special
activity. Ages 8-15 have an opportunity to be a part of Kiwi’s extensive Theater Production at the end of each season. This production provides a great
opportunity to campers who have an extra interest in theater production. Kiwi’s Theater Program is Directed by experienced theater staff. Ages 3-15 are
able to be exposed to a very creative side of Kiwi. Campers get ready for Talent Shows, improv, skits, theater games and much more. Campers ages 8-15
who enjoy theater can be part of Kiwi’s theater production, at the end of the season. Campers MUST attend Kiwi for the last 5 weeks of Kiwi in order to
join this production.
Each year the performance changes. Some examples of past theater performances include: Grease, Oliver, The Wizard of Oz, A Disney Review, High
School Musical, Flower Shop of Horrors, Oliver and many more. All campers ages 8-15 who audition for the performance are definitely part of it. Auditions
are normally during Week #3. Rehearsals are scheduled throughout the regular camp day, during weeks 4-8. A few evening rehearsals are also scheduled.
The evening rehearsals should Kiwi do more than one play performance (in the evening), additional minimal costs will be incurred per child.
Notification of these costs are sent home with the cast, once rehearsals have begun.
Kiwi is highly interested in providing a dynamic theater program for all campers. Theater is a popular cultural activity at Kiwi that provides a wonderful
outlet for campers expressing themselves. The end of the season play production gives campers interested in this area more self-confidence, allows for
campers to make more friends, become e connected to a group of campers with similar interests and retain the songs from the musical for a lifetime! Kiwi
loves having a children’s theater program!
